Mr. Eric Watson- Principal

Eric Watson is the Principal of Malcom Bridge Elementary School after serving for 3 years as Assistant Principal. Before coming to MBES, he taught at Oconee County High School after spending 4 years at Evans High School and 7 at Lee County High School. At each high school, he taught all of the Social Studies disciplines, coached football, track, and baseball, and served as a club sponsor. 

Mr. Watson grew up in Ellaville, GA, and was a part of the first graduating class at Schley County High School in 2004. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2008 and began teaching the same year. During his teaching career, he served in many roles, including MTSS Lead Teacher and Sweep Team Coordinator.

Mr. Watson is married to Dr. Jessica Watson. They have 2 children, Claire and William.

Mrs. Katie Hunter- Assistant Principal

Katie Hunter is the Assistant Principal at Malcom Bridge Elementary. Prior to working in Oconee County Schools, Mrs. Hunter was a gifted resource teacher and enrichment specialist in Hall County. As a resource teacher, she was fortunate to work with students in grades K-5, as well as collaborate with teachers across all grade levels. Mrs. Hunter also has experience teaching fifth grade and high school Social Studies. 

Mrs. Hunter has advanced degrees in Social Studies Education, Gifted and Creative Education, and Early Childhood Education. She also holds her Leadership Add-on and multiple educational endorsements. 

Mrs. Hunter and her husband have two sons, Logan and Wyatt. She and her family are very excited to be a part of the MBES community!
